Elmer has returned to London’s Elephant Park

Elmer’s back in London!

In 2019, to celebrate Elmer the Elephant’s 30th anniversary, a special trail of community-designed Elmer sculptures came to Elephant & Castle to celebrate diversity and inclusivity.

For 2022’s World Book Day on 3 March, the trail has relaunched for all to enjoy and spot 10 Elmers designed by a range of community groups and artists.

Local residents and schools, Southwark Pensioners Centre, a collective of young artists with autism and a group of Spanish-speaking mothers were involved in the designs of the sculptures, which can be found again in Elephant Park, just a five minute walk from Elephant & Castle station.

“Elmer’s values around diversity and inclusion are so important, perhaps now more than ever, and we look forward to visitors taking on the trail and discovering for themselves how Elephant Park is a place where everyone is welcome.” – Kristy Lansdown, Project Director of Elephant Park for Lendlease
